This is the only bench I did like this. Before the 2011 fire, this spot overlooked a beautiful place on Alum Creek where the water spilled over a downed log in a miniature waterfall. I was sitting here once when a snake came up the stream looking for toads or some kind of lunch. Some birds often pecked in the sand on the opposite bank which was in Bastrop State Park.
The bench survived the fire and a subsequent flood but is choked with brush right now. I do have other pictures of it and the stream and will add them eventually.
For what it’s worth, the slab on this is the other half of the log that the slab for the bench that had its legs singed in the fire.
